Yank Barry, Musician and Philanthropist

March 21, 2017

Over the course of his 30-year career in the music industry, Yank Barry was successful as a singer, songwriter, arranger, producer and publisher. He did as much as anyone could in the musical profession. Then, he became just as successful as a businessman, founding the food company Vitapro, which was very well-received. It was while he was traveling the world for Vitapro that he saw the terrible conditions that many people had to live under, and that made him want to become a world-class philanthropist.

It was a great thing to do and it has paid dividends for thousands of poor. For example, ver the last couple decades, Yank Barry’s global hunger initiative, Global Village Champions Foundation, has provided more than one billion meals to hungry people all over the world. Working closely with local agencies and NGOs all over the world, Yank Barry has helped people in politically unstable areas where few others would even venture and he does a lot of the work himself. His philanthropic mission seems to involve far more than writing a check, which may be why he has received many accolades, like receiving three nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize, among many others.
